Session number 9, entitled “Mining information management and digitisation.” Of the upcoming MINEX Russia 2016 forum will be dedicated to the most relevant processes in the mining industry: the digitalization of production, processing and transmission of large volumes of diverse data, the use of equipment that does not require a human presence.
The Deputy COO at Nordgold, Mr Oleg Maksimov will talk about the technical, financial and social aspects of automations and robotisation of mining processes. His report will deal with cost management and overall efficiency of mining enterprises ,the use of modern technologies to improve the efficiency of mining enterprises, the digital transformation (process and information transformation) in the mining as well as the new challenges they offer.
David Pearce the General Director at SRK Consulting Russia will talk about managing mining information effectively.

Maxim Seredkin the Principal Resource Geologist at CSA Global will explain the new possibilities, created by implementing information systems for mining companies and possible issues they face.Mr Seredkin will describe the successful experience of the development of information systems on uranium in-situ leaching mines in Russia by ARMZ Holding. “The successful Russian experience creates favourable conditions for the development of vertically integrated information systems for in-situ leaching mines in Kazakhstan and other mining companies.” -comments Mr Seredkin.
The use of monitoring systems of the underground transport and personnel to enhance effectiveness of planning, calculation and optimization of mining enterprises will be covered by Mr Victor Zhirinas, the Head of Mining Division at Summa Technologiy.
“A wider view of the wider view of the functionality of the positioning systems can significantly increase the efficiency of these investments, the infrastructure created may be used, not only for safety but also to increase the efficiency of planning, operational management, analysis and optimization of mining enterprise” -said the speaker. For instance, the introduction of radio communication systems and positioning of underground transport at the “Oktyabr” mine enabled, in addition to standard and mandatory (in accordance with the new rules) functions of ensuring staff , to control rock shipments, control production intensity, and automate volume control and quality of the transported rock.”
Kate Sommerville, Business Improvement Manager, AMC Consultants Pty Ltd will describe strategies to reduce costs, and using practical examples will show how mines are using data to drive productivity. Ms Sommerville comments: “Insights have been gained on how mines are using data to drive productivity. This paper aims to share good practice on using data, what benchmarks operations should be aiming for”.
