Putzmeister Double Piston Pumps for Mining: Underground Ore-Mines, Open Pits, Concentrating Mills

At the heart of any backfill system is the Putzmeister double piston pump with S-transfer tube (KOS type) or with seat valves (HSP type), and also the accompanying ZX delivery pipeline system. For paste backfilling projects Putzmeister pumps allow high pressures in the pipeline system and therefore long transport distances. Pumping distances up to 11 km from the central surface mixing plant to the underground backfilling area can be achieved without intermediate pumps. Some other system capabilities are: - Output up to 400 m3/h; - Operating pressures in the conveyed medium of up to 150 bar. Putzmeister Double Piston Pumps for Mining answer the “standard” for materials which are difficult to pump, such as: - Drained sewage sludges with a high proportion of foreign bodies - Oil sludges, coal sludges, paper sludges - Bio-waste from household waste - Recirculated material in biogas plants - Mineral wastes - Fly ashes and bottom ashes - Concrete, coarse concrete, salt concrete - And many more difficult types of high-density substances The THS precompression screw conveyor → The “turbocharger” for the high-density solids pump For pumped materials that are extremely stiff and cannot be drawn into the delivery cylinders by themselves, Putzmeister recommends the use of screw conveyors of THS pre-compression type. These are equipped with meshed, self-cleaning twin-screw conveyors. The screw conveyors squeeze the pumped material into the hopper, thus assisting the filling.
