Mikhail Leskov

Mikhail Leskov is a metallurgist with more that 35 years’ experience in management, engineering and consultancy for the wide range of project for mining and extracting of different mineral commodities. Currently Mr Leskov is leading a Mining Practice as Director in AAR (American Appraisal Russia). Previously he held senior management positions at some of the leading mining companies in Russia including Atomredmetzoloto (ARMZ), Russian Platinum, Severstal, Gazprombank and Renova. Since November 2013 till April 2016 – Board Member in the Union of Gold Producers of Russia. Since 1991 Mr. Leskov has been for 20 years uninterruptedly chairing NBLgold JSC (later known as NBL International (UK) Ltd) one of the first and largest engineering consulting groups in post-Soviet Russia. The company advised on many mining projects in the post-USSR states, in Asia and in Africa. Before setting up the NBL, for 10 years Mikhail has held various positions at the VNIPROzoloto/VNIPIgortsvetmet/Ginalmazzoloto Institute where he worked on projects located in the USSR republics, Vietnam, Mali, Mongolia and Cuba. His work experience ranges advisory services for for a wide range of mineral commodities – from diamonds and gold to tin and rock salt. Mikhail Leskov graduated as mineral processing engineer from Moscow Institute of Steel and Alloys, with specialisation in Engineering and Design for Mineral Processing/Beneficiation Plants. Mikhail Heads the Section for Evaluation and Valuation for Mineral Properties of Russian Society of Experts for Sub-soil Use/OERN (Russian RPO recognized by CRIRSCO). He is GKZ (State Committee for Natural Reserves) expert. Mikhail is one of the founders of MINEX Forum, Chairman of MINEX FAR EAST, member of Steering and Award Committees of MINEX Russia Forum,
