Mineral resources of the Murmansk region and potential for junior exploration projects

Murmansk Region (NW Russia) hosts series of large and super-large mining centres. Due continuous exploitation of historic deposits remaining mineral reserves tend to reduce whereas production efficiency is getting worse. Priorities of geoexploration are providing new reserves within existing mining centres and new junior projects targeting PGM, gold and non-metal deposits. Efficiency of greenfield project investments is restricted by series of legal, administrative and financial factors.
